LUXURY FURNITURE MAKER DORYA OPENS AN ELEGANT NEW SHOWROOM IN ISTANBUL
The showroom is set in a stately row house along Akaretler Yokuşu, one of the most fashionable streets in Istanbul.
With its striking new showroom, the luxury home-furnishings and interiors brand Dorya is bringing some modern panache to one of Istanbul’s most historic neighborhoods.
Designed by Dorya’s chief creative officer, Bahar Yorgancioglu, the space’s entryway features a bold black-and-white checkerboard floor.
Located on the street Akaretler Yokuşu in the ancient Turkish capital—where servants from the Ottoman Empire’s Dolmabahçe Palace lived in the mid-19th century—the 8,000-square-foot, three-story row house was completely refashioned by the company, which moved its corporate headquarters from Turkey to Miami last year.
From Dorya’s Contemporain collection, the Maxine cocktail table (center) and end table (right) are a nod to the company’s heritage in wood artisanship. The painting over the sofa was created exclusively for the showroom.
In the States, Dorya’s home furnishings can be purchased through eight dealers, while the Istanbul location—one of five exclusive showrooms worldwide—demonstrates the company’s role as a full-service interiors firm, capable of crafting custom-made cabinetry, paneling, and flooring. “This is different from our other spaces, because we did it all—the layout, the millwork, the ceilings, the moldings,” says Megan Perry Yorgancioglu, creative director of Dorya USA.
