The exquisitely crafted furniture of Istanbul-based Dorya is so well regarded in its native country that the office of the Turkish president recently commissioned the firm to outfit the interiors of two residences, its diplomatic offices, and meeting rooms. A couple of years ago, Dorya established corporate offices and a showroom in the United States and last year released a group of pieces called Trinity as part of its Contemporain collection. The look and feel of these was resolutely Art Deco. Now the company has re-envisioned this line. The furniture still boasts expertly book-matched walnut veneers, but the new pieces are framed in brushed steel, some with steel accents. The effect is fresher and more contemporary, as well as quintessentially cosmopolitan.
